Understanding the Fortify data model

Fortify is designed similar to your CRM. It organizes data by account, contact, and opportunity

Your data is organized by three primary objects:

  1. Accounts
  2. Contacts
  3. Opportunities

Accounts

Accounts contain information about your customer's legal name and billing address. Accounts have two child objects: Contacts and Opportunities

Contacts

Every account has one or more contacts related to it. Your contact object contains a person's name, email, and phone.

If you mark a contact as a "designated signer" all financing agreements and supporting documentation will be sent to this contact for signature.

Important note: Every account must contain one contact who is marked as the designated signer

Opportunities

Every account can have one or more opportunities related to it. Opportunities contain all the information pertaining to a specific transaction.

For example, Acme Inc (account) may have an opportunity to finance a new piece of lab equipment (opportunity). Later, they may also finance a new office buildout (opportunity). This would require two opportunities related to Acme Inc (account).

Opportunities contain multiple related objects that describe what is being financed and how, including:

  • Vendor Invoice/Quote(s)
  • Finance options
